5 Top Crypto Gainers From The Last 24 Hours

Stablecoin TerraClassicUSD (USTC) is the best performing crypto in the past day.
Also on the list is Chain (XCN), Terra Classic (LUNC), Huoni Token (HT), and Elrond (EGLD).

As Bitcoin remains in consolidation, some altcoins are winning big. This is despite a prolonged crypto winter that has wreaked havoc in the sector.

Overall, the global crypto market cap is down 0.4% to $921 billion in the last 24 hours. Below is a list of the most profitable tokens in the period.

TerraClassicUSD (USTC)

Leading the pack is TerraClassicUSD (USTC), which has gained 15.91% in the past day. USTC was trading at $0.04026 at the time of writing. TerraClassicUSD was formerly referred to as TeraUSD before decoupling from the dollar.

Since the May's collapse, the stablecoin has remained depegged to the dollar since then. Notably, TerraClassicUSD (USTC) was developed by the South Korean firm, Terraform Labs.

Chain (XCN)

The second biggest gainer is web3 altcoin, XCN, which has jumped 11.22%. The surge has reduced XCN losses to 3.27% in the past week. XCN is currently trading at $0.06922.

Chain is a blockchain infrastructure platform that lets users define and issue assets by writing custom issuance programs. The platform has been keen lately on sports marketing. Last month, Chain’s developers inked a deal with the New England Patriots football team.

Terra Classic (LUNC)

Terra Classic (LUNA), another token native to Terra, comes third on the top gainers’ board. LUNA is up 3.81% in the past day to trade at $0.0002553. The uptick could be driven by the announcement of a reduction in Terra Classic tax burn by Binance.

The exchange has lowered the margin from 1.2% to 0.2%. The Terra Classic tax burn was introduced as part of the plan to reconstruct the Terra ecosystem following the historic collapse.

Huobi Token (HT)

Fourth on the list is Huobi Token (HT). The native token powering crypto exchange Huobi global is up 3.58% in the period. It is one of the best-performing tokens in the crypto space, having gained 74% from a low of $4.5 in the last month.

At the time of writing, HT was exchanging for $7.72. In other news, Tron’s founder Justin Sun recently announced that he owns tens of thousands of HT tokens. Sun’s declaration came shortly after his appointment to the global advisory board of the exchange.

Elrond (EGLD)

Last on the list is Elrond (EGLD), which has increased by 2.88% in the past day. EGLD’s cumulative weekly gains stand at 10%, with the current price at $57.77.

Elrond is one of the tokens that has staged a strong resilience so far. The digital asset is up 1% in the past three months despite a bearish sentiment in the crypto space. The blockchain was created for high transaction speeds through sharding in smart contracts.
