Yuga Labs, the creators of the Bored Ape NFTs (known as monkey NFTs), one of the leading teams of the NFT world and Web3 in general, has announced the formation of a democratic council. The group made up of 7 prominent members of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) ecosystem, will serve as a bridge for Yuga Labs and its community.
Through an official announcement posted on their blog, the Yuga Labs team called out the most proactive and long-time members of their community. This new council will be in charge of collecting and organizing the contributions of the club, and leading charitable initiatives.
What Will The New Democratic Bored Ape Council Look Like?
According to the announcement by Yuga Labs, the organization will be known as the “BAYC Community Council” and will be made up of 7 members. These are 7 well-known collectors of NFTs, who also appear as entrepreneurs of the Web3 sector. These are Josh Ong, Sera, Laura Rod, 0XEthan, 0xWave, Negi, and Peter Fang.
On this, Yuga Labs assured that thanks to the efforts of the monkey council members, the BAYC project reached its current fame. He noted that “this council was formed with the intention of representing the club as a whole and providing a new avenue of perspective. The council, and future councils to come, will implement a more formal, efficient and consistent process for Yuga leadership to obtain feedback and advice from the community on an ongoing basis.”
Yuga Labs Decentralizes The Leadership Of Its Community
With this announcement, Yuga Labs expects to promote a series of plans to promote the use of its digital currency, the ApeCoin, in different products and services. He also made special emphasis on his desire to maintain the autonomy of the council and the independence of the startup for Web3 projects. The members of the council will only be in charge of choosing and bringing the most viable proposals from the community.
